So JW Anderson appears to be London’s most hyped new(ish) designer. More and more street blogger faces have been popping up in his clothes. His pre-fall was one of my favorite collections out of everything. But I think I know why he is hitting his stride. We are in the moment of Comme Des Garcons right now. With Celine riffing on Comme and Rei Kawakubo showing one of the most amazing Comme Des Garcons collections in ages last season and Marc Jacobs hinting toward the Japanese with his Fall Winter runway show, JW Anderson’s proportions and footwear and over all flair are also in the same vibe as a CDG show. In a good way. Sometimes it’s just about having the right references at the right time. And JW’s has got it. There are some great solid items here too, it’s not all fluff and fantasy.
