Alber Ebaz proved why he has become one of the most influential designers worldwide with his Fall Winter 2012 collection. He sent out HIS classic silhouettes in powerful and fun colors and textures proving that there’s nothing to prove. Unfinished edges (started by the Japanese trifecta, brought to evening wear by Ebaz), visible zippers running down the spine (Ebaz made famous alone) and the powerful working woman who is truly feminine, not just wearing another masculine suit. These are clothes that women die to wear, and the men stop dead in their tracks for a Lanvin woman. A very rare combination that I believe is only also accomplished by Azzedine Alaia. This show was a greatest hits of Alber Ebaz: hourglass silhouettes, metallic fabrics, flounces and peplums, gorg embroideries, fabulous outerwear, luxe furs, amazing clunky jewelry and draping, draping, draping! I see a nod to Elsa Schiaperelli with the brooches on the last look. Whatever he does, and whatever people say, Alber Ebaz is one of the only designers serving women, in a world where most people are constantly trying to re-create them and make them into something else. Thank you Alber!
